About Treaty Before Sports
Previously, the Treaty Before Voice campaign, now we are bringing attention to the way International and local sports are complicit in genocides and erasure, in ways of celebrating an ‘australian’ identity and nationalistic pride whilst attempting to bypass Indigenous Sovereignty and ignore the ways sovereign peoples and lands are subjected to colonial tokenisation, exploitation and extraction.
Support the initiative
We welcome you to attend weekly meetings for collective action. This is a chance to learn from others and brainstorm ideas for social change. Our goal is the liberation, freedom, and restitution for all First Nations peoples. If you have the capacity, you may also bring food to share with the group. We look forward to meeting you, exchanging ideas, and providing a space to privilege First Nation voices and perspectives.
Meetings are 6pm on Mondays at 8 Wellington Rd, Red Hill.
Sovereignty was never ceded. The games and sports are on stolen land.
